Face lift
What is face lift?
Face lift is a surgical procedure to improve visible signs of aging such as sagging, drooping, and wrinkled skin of the face and neck.
How is face lift performed?
Your surgeon may remove and lift some of the fatty tissue underlying the skin. The skin is pulled and the loose skin is removed. The underlying muscle and fascia are tightened. Excess body fat and sagging jowls are removed by suction using special equipment.
Can a facelift be performed with other cosmetic procedures?
Facelift can be done alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as brow lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.
Neck lift
What is a neck lift?
Neck lift, also called cervicoplasty or neck lift with platysmaplasty procedure is used to enhance the appearance of your neck and the region under the jaw line by reducing the loose sagging skin.
How is neck lift performed?
The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia. A small incision is made under your chin in front and behind the ear to access the platysma (neck muscle) and tighten it as required. You doctor may also perform liposuction on the neck to remove excess fat deposits from the neck. Some excess skin is also removed through the incisions near the ears. After the muscles are tightened, the skin is draped over the ear. The extra skin is then trimmed and the incisions are closed using sutures. A drain is placed in the neck to drain extra fluids, and decrease the swelling and discomfort following the surgery.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure usually takes two to three hours, but the time may differ accordingly, if other surgeries such as liposuction, facelift, brow lift are performed along with neck lift.
What can I expect after neck lift?
Following the surgery, you will have a compression bandage to help decrease the swelling. Most patients are able to return to normal activities after 10 to 14 days. Avoid participating in sports for at least 3 weeks.
Are there any complications associated with neck lift?
Complications associated with neck lift include infection, swelling and bruising, tightness or tingling, burning or pulling sensation and numbness on the skin.
